Soccer is a team game requiring skill and team work. Two teams of eleven (including the goalkeeper) play against each other to see who can score the most goals in one game. A goal is scored when one team kicks the ball over the opposition's goal line (the goal line is the name of the line between the two side posts at each end of the field). The team with the most goals at the end of the game id the winner! (a men's game goes for 2x 45 minute halves. children play shorter games depending on the club and age.
Soccer is also known as football (even though football is mainly referred to as rugby, soccer was the original 'football'). it was given the name because of it's number one rule, NO hands or arms can make contact with the ball (unless you're the goalkeeper). soccer is generally played on grass fields marked with white lines (this can very).
If you would like to see more rules, go to 'Rules ' on the side bar.
